Cefixime Dispersible Tablets I.P.

Cefixime is an antibacterial medication that prevents the growth of bacteria in the infected patient’s body. It kills the bacteria causing infection in the body. Cefixime belongs to the cephalosporin class antibiotic drugs. It is to be used for the treatment of viral infections only and not for any other sort of infections like viral infection, etc. It is used in the treatment of bacterial infections such as bronchitis, urinary tract infections, gonorrhea, infections of the ear, throat, tonsils, etc.

Dosage:
Cefixime is to be taken orally with or without food. Children can take it twice a day. But the actual dosage will be determined by the doctor based on the medical condition and other factors of the patient. Moreover, Cefixime is available as a dispersible tablet making it easy to administer to children. Complete the prescribed course of medication. Stopping in between may leave the infection untreated. Patient should continue the medication as prescribed by the doctor even if the symptoms have disappeared.

Precautions:

1. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to antibiotics or any other allergy in general.
2. Before prescription, tell your doctor your entire medical history or other simultaneous treatment.
3. Avoid getting vaccination/immunization (with live bacteria), as it might not let the vaccine function.
4. Do not use this medicine for viral infections
5. Continue the medicine to complete the prescribed amount of medication
